SOCIAL

Being a part of the Greek community gives us plenty of social activities.  We interact with fellow affiliated students and organizations on campus.  Each semester, we plan a variety of fraternity exchanges, sorority swaps, and Alpha Gam sisterhoods. Greek Week comes in the Fall which brings out everyone's fun and competitive nature.  All week, the different sororities and fraternities on campus compete against each other in fun events like dodgeball, water pass, and more!  Throughout the year we prepare for Greek Skit Night which takes place in the Spring.  This event allows us to show our more artistic and creative side.

Alpha Gam also hosts various socials and formals throughout the year.  With Date Party, Semi-Formal, and Formal as well as our various Greek Life events, we never run out of things to do and have ample opportunities to further the bond not only within our sisterhood, but the Greek Community as well!

Sisters

Our sisterhood has been continuously growing stronger and stronger over the years. With close ties to our alumnae and each other, sisterhood is one of our priorities. We are bound together by our purpose and our strong values. With it, and together, we have created a large support system. Every semester we have unique overnight retreats as well as constant sisterhoods throughout the year to continue to foster these friendships and bonds.

Our chapter on campus

Our chapter is a collection of women with different goals, dreams, and interests, but what binds us together is our purpose. Within the nine colleges that make up Chapman University you can find an Alpha Gam in every one. Not only does this show our diversity in education, but also our campus involvement. More than half of our chapter is involved in one or multiple clubs on campus, many of them leaders within those clubs. Many of our sisters hold positions in Student Government and the University Publicity Board. A large number of members are Chapman ambassadors, tour guides, and tutors. Several of our members hold on-campus jobs including resident advisors, research assistants, lab technicians and guest relations coordinators. It is nearly impossible to walk around campus and not see at least one Alpha Gam.

The women of the Delta Tau chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta are delighted to bring you our second Alpha Gam Movie Awards, a film-festival competition between Chapman University’s sororities, fraternities and clubs. The Alpha Gam Movie Awards benefits the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, an organization that provides essential support for diabetes awareness, research and education. The mission of the Foundation is to benefit our communities by providing support for education, service, and leadership.

We're excited to welcome friends, family, Greek life, and the Chapman and local communities to this fun event that raises money for a great cause!

The international philanthropy of Alpha Gamma Delta is The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.  The mission of The Foundation is to benefit our communities by providing essential support for education, service, and leadership.  Alpha Gam's chosen philanthropic focus is diabetes awareness and education and we continuously strive to promote this worthy cause.

On the local level, the Delta Tau chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta supports the PADRE Foundation (Pediatric-Adolescent Diabetes Research and Education).  This organization plays a critical role in the education and support of children with diabetes and their families.  We are more than grateful and thrilled to give back to this amazing foundation in so many different ways, whether it be fundraising, inviting the children to participate in our events, making & donating sugar-free snacks for the children, or quite possibly our favorite way to give back: the annual PADRE Foundation Fashion Show.

In order to support both our local and international philanthropies, our chapter will host Serve it Up, a Tennis Tournament that involves all of Greek life and Chapman Univeristy organizations as well as the Orange community. Proceeds from this event are donated directly to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation for Diabetes Reasearch and Education.  It is an awesome event with lots of friendly competition and good times.

Scholarship

“To gain understanding that wisdom may be vouchsafed to me. ”

Alpha Gamma Delta has made a commitment to academic excellence for each of our individual sisters and the chapter as a whole.  The Fraternity has set goals to ensure that academic achievement remains a priority.  Each member must attain at least a 2.5 grade point average to be initiated into the chapter.  Once a part of Alpha Gamma Delta, each collegiate member must maintain a 3.0 to remain in Good Standing with the International Fraternity.  Our dedication to an exceptional education happened before our introduction to the Fraternity, and our chapter reinforces this commitment.  We are proud of our academic excellence and strive to do even better with each new semester.  We enjoy study dates in the library, impromptu gatherings in the Student Union, and we understand that all of us are working together to improve our scholarship and experience while in college.

Chapter Scholastic Programs

Strive for Pi: Sisters with a 3.14 GPA or higher are recognized by the chapter and the International Fraternity.  At the end of each semester, a Strive for Pi event is held commemorating the sisters with this academic achievement.  One of the highlights of this event is the opportunity for someone to pie our Sister President in the face!

Smarty Pants: Sisters turn in exams, papers, projects, etc. in which they received an A.  These are entered into a drawing and each week a winner is chosen for a special surprise gift!

No Skippy Jar: Sisters who attend class regularly, without missing class are entered into a drawing every week in order to be eligible for a special gift!
